The Mall at Prince Georges Thanks the Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council for Partnering on Mural Project

The Mall at Prince Georges would like to thank the Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council for partnering with us on the mural project and providing more than 140 students with artistic experiences.

Through the community partnership, visual arts students from 12 Prince George’s County high schools were given the opportunity to research, design, and paint a mural.  Titled “Gorgeous Prince George’s: Then & Now,” the mural depicts scenes of the county from colonial times to present. It is permanently displayed at The Mall at Prince Georges, adjacent to Target, enhancing the mall with beautiful art for all to enjoy.

We applaud the participating students from Bowie, Central, Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr., Frederick Douglass, High Point, Largo, Laurel, Northwestern, Oxon Hill, Potomac, Suitland Visual & Performing Arts Center, and Surrattsville high schools. You should be proud of this awesome mural and hold a sense of accomplishment!

We also invite the community to visit The Mall at Prince Georges and experience the mural first-hand. It’s a piece of our county’s past and a testament to the hard work of our extremely talented high school students.

Sincerely,

Victoria Clark
