BLOTTER: Sept. 12-18

Robberies and burglaries fill up the blotter from last week. This is the most recent information put out by the Hyattsville Police Department.

 

Sept. 12

BURGLARY at the 3100 block of Hamilton Street: between 3:45 and 4:00 a.m., someone broke the front window of a business in this area and removed property.

VEHICLE THEFT at the 5200 block of 38th Avenue: during the night, someone stole a 2008 Mitsubishi that had been parked in this area. It was recovered by Prince George's County Police later that day.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: about 2:15 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: about 4:30 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: about 2:15 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

Sept. 13
BURGLARY at the 4600 block of 42nd Place: between 1:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., someone broke into a business in this area and removed property.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY at the 5600 block of 39th Avenue: between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., someone damaged the front door and locks in an apparent attempt to break into the home.

BURGLARY at the 6100 block of 42nd Avenue: between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., someone entered an apartment in this area and removed property.

THEFT FROM AUTO at the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road: about 9:30 a.m. someone stole the victim's purse from her vehicle while she paid for her gas purchase.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY at the 4200 block of Gallatin Street: between 12:30 and 5:15 p.m., someone attempted to kick in the front door of a residence in this area.

BURGLARY at the 3900 block of Queensbury Road: between noon and 1:30 p.m., someone broke into a residence in this area. It was unknown at the time of the report whether anything had been taken.

BURGLARY at the 4100 block of Oglethorpe Street: between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m., someone broke into an apartment in this area and removed property.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: about 12:45 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

BURGLARY at the 5200 block of 38th Avenue: about 4:30 p.m., the resident came home to find that two unknown suspects had broken into the basement of the residence. When spotted by the victim, the suspects fled in a white Honda Fit that had been left parked to the rear of the nearby 7-11.

Sept. 14

VEHICLE THEFT at the 4400 block of Oglethorpe Street: during the night someone stole a 2000 Dodge Caravan that had been parked in this area. It was recovered in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 16.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT at the 4400 block of Oglethorpe Street: during the night someone damaged the ignition on a vehicle parked in this area in an apparent attempt to steal it.

THEFT FROM AUTO at the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road: about 9:45 a.m. someone stole the victim's purse from her vehicle while she paid for her gas purchase.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's 3500: between noon and 2:30 p.m. someone stole several bottles of cologne and perfume from a store in the mall.

THEFT at the 3600 block of East West Highway: about 6:30 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a drug store in this area.

THEFT FROM AUTO at the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road: about 8:15 p.m. someone stole two purses from a vehicle while the two victims stood near the vehicle pumping gas.

BURGLARY at the 6800 block of Calverton Drive: about 8:45 p.m. someone broke into a residence in this area. It was unknown at the time of the report whether anything had been taken.

Sept. 15
ROBBERY at the 2600 block of Nicholson Street: about 2:45 a.m. three unknown suspects assaulted and robbed a cab driver when he was dropping them off in this area.

BURGLARY at the 3100 block of Madison Street: between 8:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. someone broke into a shed in this area and removed property.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT at the 4800 block of Baltimore Avenue: about 11:15 a.m., an ex-employee of a business in this area was arrested for disorderly conduct when he returned and threatened employees.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: between 3:00 and 3:15 p.m. someone stole several bottles of cologne and perfume from a store inside.

THEFT at the 3300 block of East West Highway: about 4:00 p.m. an employee of a store in this area was arrested for stealing from that store.

THEFT FROM AUTO at the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road: about 7:00 p.m. someone stole the victim's purse from her vehicle while she was pumping gas.

Sept. 16
VANDALISM TO AUTO at 5600 Hamilton Manor Drive: during the night someone used an unknown object to scratch graffiti on the side of a vehicle parked in this area.

THEFT at the 6200 block of Belcrest Road: about 10:45 a.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from an optical store in this area.

THEFT at the 3600 block of East West Highway: about 11:00 a.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a drug store in this area.

Sept. 17
VANDALISM TO AUTOS at the 3000 block of Jamestown Road: during the night, someone broke out windows in two vehicles in this area.

THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's: about 3:45 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

THEFT at the 3600 block of East West Highway: about 7:15 p.m. a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a drug store in this area.

Sept. 18
VANDALISM TO AUTO at the 3600 block of Gallatin Street: during the night, someone slashed the tires on a vehicle parked in this area.
