Chess Club

  • Where:  Stanley Memorial Library, 507 7th St, Laurel
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 26, 1 p.m.
  • Description:  All experience levels welcome. This group meets every Saturday at 1 pm, except for the following dates:

Arts Drop-In: Amazing Space Craft & UFO's

 

Body & Brain Yoga: Free Trial Class

  • Where:  5001 Garrett Ave, Beltsville
  • When:  Saturday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m.
  • Description:  Free class this Saturday at 2pm for participant to feel the benefits of Body & Brain yoga and release your stress and tension.
  • Cost: Free

 

Winter Concert

  • Where:  4512 College Ave, College Park
  • When:   Sunday, Jan. 27, 4 p.m.
  • Description:  The Maryland Cantabile will present Missa Ave Regina by Victoria, and Tanya Ruth will sing vocal selections including works by Mozart at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Internet Technology, one-on-one tutoring

  • Where:  9525 Durness Ln, Laurel
  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 27, 1 p.m.
  • Description:   Family Web Surfing, ages 7 and over; Open the Door to Open Office: Ages 13 and over; Research 24/7: Access full-text articles and other resources for school assignments, business or personal use from any computer at any time.
  • Cost:  Free

 

Family Dance Party Workshop

  • Where:  Sport Fit, 100 White Marsh Park Dr, Bowie
  • When:   Friday, Jan. 25, 7 p.m.
  • Description:  Sport Fit's "FAMILY SPOT:Let's Hang Out" is hosting a dance workshop party with instructions on how to do the Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, Hoedown Throwdown, and more!  Recommended ages: 5-99 years.  Snacks and refreshments provided.
  • Cost:  $10

 

Laughter Yoga-mix Class

  • Where:  3215 Powder Mill Rd, Adelphi
  • When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 9:30 a.m.
  • Description:  A gentle yoga mix of breathing, poses, stretches, meditation and laughter therapy.
  • Cost:  Free

 

The Merchant of Venice: Presented by The Rude Mechanicals

  • Where:  Greenbelt Arts Center, 123 Centerway, Greenbelt
  • When:  Friday, Jan. 18 – Jan. 26, 8 p.m.
  • Description:   The Rude Mechanicals presents The Merchant of Venice, A story of two rival businessmen who enter into a bond.
  • Cost: $17

 

Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will?

  • Where:  Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Park Dr., Bowie
  • When:  Friday, Jan. 25, Saturday, Jan. 26, 8 p.m.
  • Description:   Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will? written by Del Shores Directed by John Nunemaker is being presented to the public at the Bowie Playhouse by Bowie Community Theatre beginning January 11.  The production will run January 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 at 8:00 p.m. and January 13, and 20 at 2:00 p.m.
