City Police Seek Info on Stabbing Suspect

Man stabbed in early Monday morning dispute in West Hyattsville.

The Hyattsville City Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect believed to have stabbed a man early yesterday morning in West Hyattsville.

According to an advisory from the HCPD sent out to subscribers of the city's emergency alert system, the stabbing took place at around 2 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 in the 3100 block of Hamilton Street. The stabbing resulted from an escalating verbal altercation.

After the stabbing, police said the suspect fled the scene in a dark colored, newer model Toyota extended cab pickup truck.

The suspect was caught on security cameras near the vicinity of the crime, and police have distributed the image on a wanted poster.

The suspect, if caught, faces first degree assault charges.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Hyattsville City Police Department's Criminal Investigations Section at 301-985-5060.

How is it the camera on my phone has better quality pictures then this security camera? This looks like it came out of the 1990s. And Simon, "destroy" might be a strong word but I understand your intent. We really do need to rebuild this area. There are plans to do so. Since you are concerned perhaps you'd be interested in working with the Hyattsville city council committee related to that topic. Or were you just more interested in venting and implying a racial slur?
