Crime is never funny, but sometimes criminals do interesting things. Here's a roundup of recent crime that might be considered "interesting."
On Aug. 22, about 1 a.m. at approximately 1:00 a.m., a suspect was arrested at the 3100 block of Hamilton Street when he threatened an employee with a box cutter after being asked to pay his tab at a restaurant in this area.
On Aug. 22 about 5:45 p.m. at the 2900 block of Hamilton Street, a suspect was arrested after he walked out without paying his bar tab and damaged a glass door when he was leaving.
On Aug. 24 about 10:30 a.m. at the 2900 block of Belcrest Center Drive a victim left his car running and attended by a passenger while he went into Dunkin' Donuts store. An unknown suspect got into the vehicle, pushed the passenger out of the vehicle and fled onto Belcrest Road.
On Aug. 27, between 2:15-2:30 p.m. at the 5100 block of Baltimore Avenue someone stole the tip jar from a restaurant in the area.

There is nothing interesting about crime. All of the victims you listed could have been seriously hurt and even if they were not they might well be traumatized. Crime in our society is bad enough, we don't need the media to make light of it. If any of these things happened to you, would you call them "interesting"? Please stop editorializing the news.

Hi Raphi,
I tried e-mailing you back at the other address that you e-mailed from, but it kept bouncing back. So...
I know you live in Hyattsville, but maybe we should talk about commenting on the stories of competitors. You can't truly say you're unbiased :-)
However, thanks for your thoughts. This blurb was meant as a round-up of what seemed to me to be the more off-beat crimes on the Hyattsville police blotter. You and I might disagree on the term "interesting," but it was in no way meant to editorialize.
