Gonzaga at DeMatha Hoops to Bring Traffic Woe

Heavy traffic expected when WCAC rivals face off on the parquet tomorrow in Hyattsville. Game sold out, ESPN to broadcast.

City officials are warning residents to expect heavy traffic and tight parking on Friday, Feb. 10 when WCAC hoops rivals DeMatha and Gonzaga face off on the hardwood in Hyattsville.

The game begins at 7:30 p.m. at DeMatha and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

An alert sent by the city said that extra Hyattsville City Police Department patrols will be in the area to make sure things go as smoothly as possible.

A message sent earlier today by DeMatha Catholic High School said that the game had been sold out, and there will be no tickets sold at the gate.

The game is a rematch of their Jan. 20 meeting, which saw Gonzaga narrowly edge a rallying DeMatha 76-74

Stay tuned to Hyattsville Patch tomorrow for a match preview and–later in the night–a photo gallery of the action.
