The house at 5508 40th Ave looks very similar to what used to be my late grandparents house, just less than one block away on Jefferson St. I Googled the address, and lo and behold, I used to know the family that lived at 5508, as I went to school with many of the kids -- and they had a lot of them. I think they had eight boys in a row before they had a girl, and it made the news paper as I recall.

The sale price of the house floors me, I'm so out of touch with home prices. My grandparent's paid $12,500 for their house in February of 1949. Of course, that was in 1949 dollars.
