One woman got a terrifying wake-up call last week when an unknown man burst into her house and stole her wallet.
The incident happened on April 4 at around 5:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of Gallatin Street when the victim was woken up by the sound of the suspect standing on her apartment balcony and asking to be let inside.
The woman ran and hid in her bedroom, but the burglar broke the balcony door open and forced his way inside. Once inside, he demanded the woman's wallet and ran off.
The next day, April 5, and around the corner on the 5000 block of 36th Place, a resident returned to his residence in the evening to discover that someone had attempted to pry open the back door. Police are classifying that incident as an attempted burglary.
Two weeks ago, on March 30, another home was invaded when a suspect posing as a courier forced his way inside a residence in the 4000 block of Hamilton Street, stealing a small amount of cash and personal items from the home.
The suspect in that incident is described as a light-skinned black male, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, medium build. He was dressed in an official uniform from a well-known delivery company, although city staff would not releasing the name of the company.
