Hyattsville Crime Map: Groped

In this week's crime map, Hyattsville police respond to two reports of inappropriate grabbing.

 

In a week which saw yet another violent sexual assault take place in Hyattsville, city police also responded to two incidents of groping. 

The gropings both occured in the vicinity of the Mall at Prince George's.

The first incident happened on Monday, April 16 at 6:30 a.m. According to information provided by the Hyattsville City Police Department, a person walking in the 6500 block of Belcrest Road was grabbed inappropriately by an unknown suspect who then fled towards East-West Highway. 

Then, three days later on Thursday, April 19 at 8 p.m., another person walking in the 3300 block of East West Highway was groped by an unknown suspect who then fled. 

The details were revealed in a weekly crime report released by city police. The map, nor the data provided by police, include information relating to the April 20 rape which occurred on the Northwest Branch Hiker Biker Trail.  The full data from that report can be found below.

4/17/12 THEFT  3500 blk East West Highway At approximately 2:45 p.m.  two suspects were arrested for shoplifting at a store at the mall.

4/20/12 STOLEN TAGS  3300 blk East West Highway At approximately 1:15 p.m.  the victim noticed that someone had stolen the tags from her vehicle.
4/21/12 THEFT FROM AUTO  5200 blk 41st Avenue Sometime during the night  someone broke into a vehicle parked in this area and removed property.
4/21/12 THEFT  3500 blk East West Highway At approximately 7:30 p.m.  a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a store at the mall.
4/21/12 THEFT  3500 blk East West Highway At approximately 8:15 p.m.  a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a store at the mall.
