Editor's Note: Hey Hyattsville. It's been a long time since I've done an update to the Hyattsville city crime map. I had published these maps in the past, but they are slightly labor intensive to produce and the readership did not seem to justify my time.
But in the wake of the recent concerns about crime and public information in Hyattsville, I feel that there is a community benefit to having this information in an accessible format on this site.
So, welcome again to the Hyattsville Crime map. Look for it every week when the city releases the weekly police log. Usually that happens on Wednesdays, but (like today) sometimes the data is released earlier or later in the week.

Hi Michael, I truly appreciate your effort with this map! It's nice to know where things are happening in the neighborhood. It allows us, the local residents, to be aware of what is happening nearby and perhaps heighten our awareness to something we may otherwise dismiss.
Thanks again!

What crime is the "other" tab representing?
Thanks,

They are a burglary and a vehicle theft. For some reason my mapping site is processing those as "others", likely because those two categories of crimes were reported only once during the reporting period.

You can click the individual points on the map to get a brief narrative of the event.
