Some members of the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department took their trucks over to Giant on Aug. 26 to stock up on food for their firehouse. The didn't want to be caught unprepared when Hurricane Irene strikes.

Members of the HVFD walked out of Giant Aug. 26 with several carts piled high with groceries. They told Patch they were stocking up for Hurricane Irene.
