Jefferson Street To Close Twice for Road Work
Street closed for four hours on Friday and Monday.
A stretch of Jefferson Street in downtown Hyattsville will be closed for about four hours on Friday, Oct. 5 and Monday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on each day.
According to Hyattsville Communications Manager Abby Sandel, the street will be closed between 44th Avenue and 43rd Place to install conduits for parking lot lighting in the city's Jefferson Street parking lot, which is currently undergoing renovations.
Parents of children at Hyattsville Elementary School need not fear a traffic backup.
"Our contractor has been notified that all work is to be complete and the road reopened by 1:00 p.m. to ensure a safe dismissal from Hyattsville Elementary School," according to a Nixle alert sent out to residents.

My apologies, that was a rather stupid oversight on my part. I have updated the article with that information. The street will be closed between 44th Avenue and 43rd Place.
