Post offices serving Hyattsville, Riverdale Park and University Park were a bit busier than normal this morning as area residents lined up to get their packages and letters shipped before the holidays. Thursday, Dec. 20 was the last day by which the United States Postal Service said a first class letter would make it to its destination before Christmas day.
Those procrastinators among us will be forced to use priority mail (pre-Christmas arrival shipping deadline Dec. 21) and express mail (pre-Christmas arrival shipping deadline Dec. 22).
