Northwestern High School's softball team is moving forward with the first round of playoffs at 4 p.m. on Friday at home.

Athletic Director Terri Dendy today wasn't immediately aware of when the baseball playoffs will begin.

The school's boys and girls outdoor track teams are going to the Prince George's County championships May 12 and May 14 at Dr. Henry Wise High School. The teams will also go to the regional championships on May 20/21. If athletes qualify, they will move onto the state championships on May 27/28.

There are some runners who have a good chance at qualifying, Dendy said.

The Northwestern tennis team was eliminated in playoffs on May 10.
