Emmanuel Esparza-Baltazar earned the honor of class valedictorian after immigrating to America from Mexico at age 7. He said he knew nothing when he came to this country, not even English. But he says it is "our determination that keeps us strong." He told the class of 2012, "our journey is not over, it has just begun" and that "if they say we can't walk on Mars, we'll walk on Mars." Emmanuel, with a 4.11 GPA, plans to attend the University of Maryland, College Park and study computer engineering. Credit Robert Mang

Class salutatorian Jazmin Henriquez told the class of 2012, "We're going to be the bomb." She gave credit to her parents and family for making who she is, saying, "We'd be nothing without their love and their food." Jazmin ran track and was the student government vice president at Northwestern. She will go on to study biology at the University of Maryland, College Park in the hopes of becoming a family doctor. It is the Northwestern High School Wildcats (not Bearcats) and their colors are blue and white (not purple and white).

These pictures are all great, but picture #12 has the wrong name. The girl name is Tina Nguyen, not Toni Barnes.
