Police officer working second job suffers gunshot wound at area nightclub.

A shooting at a Chillum area nightclub early Saturday left one Prince George's County police officer shot, but expected to live. 

"Our officer suffered non-life threatening injuries," according to a tweet from Julie Parker, public information officer for the Prince George's County Police Department. 

According to Parker, an off-duty county police officer was injured while working a second job at the Galaxy Nightclub at 2031 University Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 28.

The officer was working "secondary employment," according to Parker. 

According to Parker, this is the fifth time in roughly 18 months that a Prince George's County Police officer has been involved in a shooting incident.

At least three subjects were detained by county police in connection with the shooting, according to the Prince George's County Police Twitter feed.
