Police Release Sketch of Rape Suspect

Suspect wanted in connection with abduction and rape reported near West Hyattsville Metro Station.

The Hyattsville City Police Department has released a sketch of an unknown suspect wanted on charges of abduction and first-degree rape which occurred near the West Hyattsville Metro Station. 

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man with a beige-almond complexion, standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. 

He was last seen wearing a shirt with red and white horizontal stripes, a tan jacket and dark pants. 

Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Detective Truesdale at 301-429-5646.

The Hyattsville City Police Department has warned residents to stay alert on the trails near the West Hyattsville Metro Station, where police have responded to three calls for rape, sexual assault and attempted assault since late January. 

Police advise that residents walk in groups and use "extreme caution" in the area.
