Today Sept.22, 2010 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Target at the Mall at Prince Georges hosted its first national preparedness event. The purpose of the
event was to reinforce the importance of preparing for potential
disasters.

In attendance were the store's Assets Protection and Pharmacy Team, Hyattsville
City Police Department members, Hyattsville City Fire Department members, Prince George's County CERT Team members and McGruff the crime dog. The event was a huge success.

Those involved were able to hand out 450 Emergency Preparedness kits along with hundreds of pamphlets and informational sheets on how to plan and prepare for emergencies.
