Update, Dec. 11, 2:40 p.m.: Five-year-old Nathan Norman is battling terminal cancer. While he's fighting the fight, he asked for Christmas cards from police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel. Prince George's County responders got together to send him their greetings.
Fire and rescue and emergency personnel have been sending Nathan cards and gifts from all across the country, the Nathan Charles Norman blog reports. See the blog for updated information on his health and the response he is receiving for his request for cards.

I don't know Nathan, nor do I know Chief Mitchell who organized this photo...but I want to thank Chief Mitchell for the effort he made in answering a little boy's wish. This is one of my all time favorite Christmas Spirit stories. I hope I have the opportunity to give so much from the heart. And Best Wishes to Nathan.

I just went to the boys family blog site. Wow!. Such a young child and all the treatments he has gone through. Clearly, no one wants to give up. Very brave!
