This Saturday is Mary Prangley Clean-Up Day in the city of Hyattsville. Honoring former Mayor Mary Prangley, the day is an opportunity for Hyattsville residents to set out bulk items for the city's Department of Public Works to haul away. Regular trash will be collected as well, according to the city's website. 

But it's not just a day for bulk-trash hauling. Coincidently, the Hyattsville Elementary School PTA is having their annual Garden and Grounds day to prep the schoolyard for winter and to spruce up the surrounding neighborhood a bit.

Garden and Grounds Day runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hyattsville Elementary School on 43rd Avenue.
