Two Teens Arrested in Bladensburg Killing

54-year-old man beaten, chased and robbed by local teens, according to county police.

The Prince George's County Police Department has arrested two Hyattsville-area teenage boys in the killing of a 54-year-old man in Bladensburg over the weekend.

Police initially responded to the 5200 block of Newton Street in Bladensburg for reports of disorderly conduct among individuals who might have been drinking and chasing one another with a shovel. But when police arrived they found a man dead on the side of the road.

Police have identified the victim as nearby Newton Street resident David Krupski.

Krupski's body was found within a few hundred yards of his house, according to police. He had been robbed, and had suffered some form of trauma to his torso. His body has been taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiners in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Homicide detectives quickly identified two teenage boys, one 16 and the other 17, as suspects in the killing. Police say the teens both gave statements admitting to robbing, chasing and beating Krupski to death.

Police are seeking to have the teens charged as adults.

Charge them as ADULTS!!!!! They knew what they were doing and could have stopped short of killing the man!!!!

This crime is a prime example of a crime that could have possibly been prevented, or at least had a better ending (for the victim), had Maryland had a right-to-carry law, and the victim had a concealed hand gun on his person so as to defend himself with.

If he was in his home, why would we need a law to allow for concealed (or any) carry? You are allowed to carry a gun in any way you wish in your home.

Maybe you should start a campaign for convincing folks to exercise their right to carry while at home. They may not know about it.

MY DEEP CONDOLECES TO DAVID'S FAMILY. AND THE PARENTS OF THESE YOUNG MEN AND THERE SIBLINGS. ONLY ONE WHO CAN HEAL SUCH PAIN IS THE LORD. YOUNG MEN GIVE YOULL LIVES TO THE LORD. GET TO KNOW HIM BY READING HIS WORD FOR HIS WORD IS HIM. THE HOLY BIBLE. HELP THEM ALL LORD.

Yes ... I agree that they need the Lord. Perhaps they will find the Lord as they live the rest of their lives thinking about this senseless crime they committed. To take someone's life in a mere game or a fit of selfishness is so inconsiderate. I am glad they were apprehended by the police but I do feel sorry for the victim, his family and the suspects's families. They bring such hardship on not only their families but the entire nation as we become more and more fearful of what kind of beasts we are finding living right next to us or in our neighborhoods. We must pray even for these young men that they will repent.

What I would like to know is why in the hell is a 54 yr old man is doing drinking with underage kids. Look at the bigger picture here people. Perhaps he was getting the young men drunk to have his way with them. I mean, it isn't unheard of you know? How do we know these young men weren't trying to defend themselves from a sexual predator? Rumor has it that they were in the house drinking with this older guy. If that's true, he was out of line as an adult feeding alcohol to minors. How do we know this guys didn't make a pass or try to molest these young boys and the young boys defended themselves. Again rumor has it that the fight started inside the guys apartment and then they chased him outside and took the shovel from him and beat him with it. Maybe the young men didnt want to say what truly happened to them. It's not easy for black little boys to admit being touched.
