Yearly Requirements for School Immunizations, Physicals Posted

The county's school website lists the school immunization requirements for the 2011-2012 school year.

Each year students entering schools in Maryland are required to get certain immunizations in order to attend.

The requirements can change year to year, but Prince George's County Public Schools has listed a full list of them for the 2010-2011 school year on their website.

The immunizations are required for any child attending school from Pre-K to 12th grade as mandated by federal and state guidelines. Although there are waivers for students who may have a medical condition or because of their religious beliefs, all parents must fill out one form per child attending school.

Students involved in athletics, whether in middle school or high school, must have a physical in order to play. Parents should also fill out a medical card for their student athlete. The card will stay with in the team's medical kit.

College-bound students also have immunization requirements that can be found on their university's website.
