12th annual Azalea Classic 5k will be held on april 20, 2013. Proceeds go to university park elementary school PTA. USATF certified challenging coarse lined with beautiful azaleas! Chip timed! Something for everyone . 5k, 1k family fun run, 1 mile kids challenge for kids 8 and older, and post party race with a DJ. University Park Elementary is located within a residential area of Baltimore Avenue. The school has high state test scores, in the 80th percentile, and also boasts a 93 percent attendance rate. The school serves a large hispanic community but is not a Title 1 school. The school's principal, Nancy Schickner, began her first year with the school in the fall of 2009.
