If you head down 38th St. you will see AWS staff member s waiting in a parking lot adjacent to a ball field. The contact informa tion of the staff member present will be provided upon registration in c ase you have logistical questions.\nDescription: \;This past fall\, local elementary students helped us construct bird houses in an effort t o provide greater habitat for a few of our local bird species. With more than 100 bird houses ready to go\, we need your help installing them in local meadowed areas! The work will include building cylindrical predat or baffles from galvanized metal pieces and other assorted hardware.&nbs p\; We will then be hammering 7&rsquo\; posts into the ground and attach ing the baffles and birdhouses.  \;Participants should be comfortabl e working with tin snips\, metal with sharp edges and possibly working f rom a ladder. \; \;Please join us!\nThe SONG Project (Saving Our Native Grasslands) is designed to increase the health of our meadow res toration sites. \; One very popular component of this has been the b uilding and installing of birdhouses to help increase the biodiversity o f our watershed. \; An ecosystem with a diversity of plant and anima l species is a strong ecosystem and by strengthening these habitats we a re contributing directly to a healthier Anacostia River. \;\nPlease& nbsp\;click here \;to register!\nRegistration is required. \;Ind ividuals must use the registration system.
