About Hello Kitty For President

Beginning on November 1, Hello Kitty is throwing her bow into the ring for President of the United States, adding a playful punch to the busy election season. She is running on the friendship platform and currently encouraging supporters to weigh in on the question of a running mate via Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/hellokitty). 

As a part of her campaign, Hello Kitty will be using the LivingSocial 918 F St space as her campaign headquarters. Within the space, the Hello Kitty for President team will be hosting a pop-up shop selling Hello Kitty merchandise from November 1-6. Programming in the space will run throughout the week. Activities include partnerships and giveaways from Georgetown Cupcake and Sephora. Events with the Children's National Medical Center and the non-profit 826 (http://www.826national.org/) are also being planned.  

The Hello Kitty for President street team has begun passing out bumper stickers, yard signs and other campaign collateral to drive awareness and traffic to the pop-up shop. The official site for the campaign is  http://hellokittyforpresident.tumblr.com/.
