Is the rain finally over? Events this weekend and the national news story of the day.

An end to the rain? - The National Weather Service is reporting a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of rain is 40%. Rain estimated between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

Fair - the Prince George's County Fair is scheduled to begin today from 5 p.m - 11 p.m. Flooding in Upper Marlboro canceled the fair's opening yesterday.

DeMatha senior heading to the Big East? - ESPN is reporting that DeMatha High School senior Jerami Grant will conduct in-home visits with Syracuse, Notre Dame and Rutgers beginning today. Jerami's brother, Jerian, is a sophomore at Notre Dame. Jerami is the son of 11-year NBA veteran Harvey Grant.
