Community Yard Sale Opens This Weekend

New expanded community yard sale kicks off on Friday afternoon.

Beginning today at 3 p.m., the expanded Hyattsville Fall 2012 Community Yard Sale gets underway. 

The event was expanded to a three day affair this time around to give more opportunities for people to sell their wares. It was also expanded to enable members of different religions to participate in the yard sale without violating the sabbath, according to Hyattsville Communications Manager Abby Sandel.

The event opens today at 3 p.m. and runs through 7 p.m. On Saturday Oct. 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6the yard sale opens at 9 a.m. and runs through 2 p.m.

More than 80 households have registered with the city for the yard sale. 

City officials have also produced a map and listing of each house which has registered for the yard sale.

Forgot to register? Do not fear. You can still hold a yard sale without registering. Registration merely put your yardsale on the map, literally.
