Happy Thursday, Hyattsville. It's nearly the end of a week of incredible weather. Here are the five things you need to know today:

1. The ABC7 weather team is forecasting a 70 percent chance of showers in the morning and a 40 percent chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. It looks like our cool, dry period comes to an end. We'll only reach a high near 80.

3. kicks off its summer season with the Susan Jones Jazz Quartet performing at 7 p.m.

4. According to NBC Washington, liquor stores in Prince George's County may soon be delivering spirits door-to-door. The county liquor board is considering giving residents the option of liquor delivery right to your front door. The public has an opportunity to weigh in at the June 28 liquor board meeting.

5. On this day in 1884, the first roller coaster in America opened at Coney Island, in Brooklyn, NY. It traveled approximately six mph and cost a nickel to ride. The new form of entertainment was a big hit; by the turn of the century there were hundreds of roller coasters across the country.
