Hyattsville Farmers' Market Shifts Into Fall

Seasons coming along earlier in the year, report farmers.

A bit earlier than usual, farmers have almost completely transitioned to fall produce at the Hyattsville Farmers' Market. That means apples, potatoes and other fall delights are appearing in greater abundance.

"Everything is coming in early," according to Peggy Campanella, a fruit farmer from Anne Arundel County who sells at the Hyattsville market. "The mild winter accelerated the onset of each season after it."

That means, said Campanella, that each seasonal crop had its "wake up call" a bit sooner than expected.
