Jefferson Street Closures to Continue into October
Central Hyattsville street to remain closed during the day.
Look out Hyattsville drivers:
"Periodic closures of Jefferson Street will continue for the next several weeks. Closures are necessary to replace portions of the Washington Gas pipeline system. Parts of Jefferson Street may be closed between 8 AM and 1:30 PM on weekdays. Detours will be posted.
The pipelines in our area our made of cast iron. They will be replaced with longer lasting, specially-designed plastic pipe. Washington Gas customers should not experience service interruptions during this time.
The majority of the work will take place between 42nd Avenue and 43rd Place."
