4th Annual Native Plant Sale to benefit Hyattsville Elementary School PTA

  • Description:  The 2013 Native Plant Sale to benefit Hyattsville Elementary School is being held May 18 from 8 am to 4 p.m. Nearly 50 varieties of native flowers, shrubs, and trees are available, including native roses, ferns, azaleas, and more.

Pretty Girl Cupcakery Birthday Celebration

  • Where:  5606 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville
  • When:  Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Pretty Girl Cupcakery (PG Cupcakery) invites the Hyattsville community and surrounding areas to join in a fun-filled birthday party celebration for the Bakery.  The bakery will hold its second annual Cupcake Cutie Contest where one lucky youngster will get a chance to win a dozen free cupcakes to share with friends and family.  There will also be a 100 Cupcake Giveaway.

Bowie Certified Wildlife Habitat Tour

  • Description:  The Bowie Gardens for Wildlife Habitat Team is hosting the second annual Bowie Certified Habitat Tour.  Visitors will see how homeowners with National Wildlife Federation-certified habitats are providing wildlife with food, water, cover, and places to raise young.  Features vary from habitat to habitat and include ponds, rainwater capture, native plants, pollinator-friendly gardens, and more.

  • Description:  An "outdoor" open-air flea market bringing together indie designers, boutique owners, style enthusiasts and fashion stylists.

Customer Appreciation Day and Premier Anniversary Celebration

  • Description:  My Barber's Lounge celebrates a grand first year of operations in Greenbelt.

Pirate Fest

  • Where:  Darnall's Chance Museum, 14800 Governor Oden Bowie Dr, Upper Marlboro
  • When:  Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m.
  • Description:   Featuring swashbuckling re-enactors, hands-on children’s activities, live music, concessions stand, children’s pirate costume contest, a treasure hunt and more for wannabe pirates and landlubbers alike.
