Riverdale Outdoor Farmers Market Opens Thursday

The outdoor version of the Rivedale Park Farmers Market is back after the seasonal hiatus.

Live, local music and fresh, local food will share the stage on Thursday when the Riverdale Park Farmers Market kicks off its regular outdoor season.

Several market favorites are setting up shop on Thursday, so drop by the town center parking lot from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for fresh veg and hot dinner fare, including:

  • Pastured meats, grass fed beef, free range eggs and raw milk cheeses from Groff's Content Farm
  • Kale, chard, pac choi, Chinese cabbage, spinach, pea shoots and other greens from ECO City Farms
  • Coffees by Zeke's of DC, including its new local RIA Roast available by the pound
  • Soaps and other products from Mystic Water Soap
  • Artisan breads, cookies, pastries and more will be offered by Stone Hearth Bakery
  • Barbecue by Geppetto Catering
  • Hot Indian cuisine by The Verandah
  • A variety of Mexican foods by Ruben's Crepes

As if all that delicious food weren't enough to bring you out to the market, Marianna Previti, performing with the Wild Anacostias—an eclectic New Orleans horn band—will play live at the market from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
