Blues Highlight Hyattsville Summer Jam

Fans of food, music and fun encouraged to party down, downtown.

Summer Jam returns tonight to Gallatin Street with Blues Condition, a mainstay of the local blues circuit. 

The concert series is free and takes place in front of the on the second Friday of every month through September starting at 6:30 p.m. and running through 8:30 p.m.

Blues Condition covers a variety of old time blues crooners, from Muddy Waters to Stevie Ray Vaughan, according to their website.

Their 2009 debut album Swinging Blues and Rockin' Roots Music was a nominee for the Washington Area Music Associations Best Roots Rock CD award. 

The event also features food from event sponsor and beer for the adults. For the kids, there's face painting, a clown, a moon bounce, and music to dance to.

Last month's Summer Jam, brought out at least 150 people to take in some great weather and good times.

Weather should be good tonight as well. Forecasts call for clear skies all day with evening lows dipping into the 60s from a daytime high in the mid 80s.
