1. Hungary: Egg painting is one of the oldest traditions, older than Hungary. Painted eggs were found in some graves dating back to the pre-Magyar times.

2. Ireland: The main source of protein for the Lenten season was herring, because it was cheap and there was a lot of it. But, after eating it so much, Irish were happy to see it go. So much so, they celebrated with a mock funeral on Easter Saturday.

3. South Africa: There are prayers on Easter morning to mark the resurrection of Jesus. Throughout Holy Week prayers and processions are held in various part of the country.

4. Peru: Ayacucho, San Cristóbal de Huamanga has a multi-day celebration of the passion of Christ. Easter gives way to festivities commemorating the resurrection of Christ.

5. Australia: Easter marks the end of summer here. The Royal Easter Show in Sydney has a huge display of Australia's best food, produce and farm animals.
