The Scrub Pines had a good run playing at Rhode Island Red's Cafe, but have moved on to another venue. We're down the road a piece at St. Elmos Coffee Pub in the Del Ray section of Alexandria on occasional Friday and Saturday evenings. Local music duo The Scrub Pines will be sharing the evening with singer/songwriter Mike Elosh. Mike plays roots-based original material and has been compared to some acoustic guitar and harmonica slingin' heavy weights over the years. Although he's generally not fond of comparisons, he said, "If people want to put me in that good company, I really can't complain." Comparisons aside, he's a wonderful musician whose been nominated by members of the Washington Area Music Association as the Best Male Vocalist in the Traditional Folk category. So come on out for some tasty pizza, cold beer, hot coffee or tea, and cool music at Rhode Island Reds this Thursday from 7 to 9 pm!
