Five Things You Need To Know Today (The Hy-Five)

About campaign finance reports, a new fire engine and a spring concert at Northwestern High.

Can you believe it's Monday again, Hyattsville? Here's five things you need to know today:

1. There's a City Council work session tonight at 8 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting agenda includes discussion about the city's capital improvement plan.

2. Did you run for City Council in the May 3 elections? If you did, don't forget to submit your final campaign finance reports by 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

3. Engine 1, a new Pierce Arrow XT pumper, was delivered to the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department late last month. It was funded through an Assistance to Firefighters  federal grant and financing from the City of Hyattsville. The pumper's call sign will be Engine 801 when it is placed into service within the coming months.

4. The Northwestern High School Music Department's Spring Concert is from 7 to 11 p.m. on May 11. The concert will be held at the school's auditorium.
