Five Things You Need To Know Today (The Hy-Five)

About Dumm's, blue crabs and getaways.

Oh wonderful Wednesday! Here are five things you need to know today, Hyattsville:

1. The Washington Post’s Going Out Guide hit Rhode Island Reds recently and tapped it as the place to be for a quirky, eccentric bite to eat. Check out the raving!

2. Do you hit Dumm’s Market much? The 100-year-old Riverdale Park eatery is moving from its location on Riverdale Road to Queensbury Road.

3. Ready for a summer excursion? Sail along the Choptank River and eat all the Maryland blue crabs you can on a three-hour cruise on June 9 hosted by the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation. You can also savor Maryland crab soup, fried chicken, clam strips, corn on the cob, coleslaw, dessert, coffee, tea and soda. After the cruise, the boat docks at St. Michael's where you can check out, literally, and enjoy ice cream at Justine's Parlor.

4. Speaking of summer food, why not take a break from cooking tonight and head on over to Carolina Kitchen for some soul food—I’m thinking fried green tomatoes. This photo says it all. I’m already drooling…
