Five Things You Need To Know Today (The Hy-Five)

Can you believe it’s Monday again, Hyattsville? Seriously, who puts the weekends on fast forward? Here are five things you need to know today:

 

1. There’s a special evening candidate registration from 5 to 6:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall. If you’re interested in running for Mayor Marc Tartaro’s open Ward 1 seat, sign up and join the campaign.

2. Speaking of City Council, the Check back later today for a preview of the meeting.

3. It’s story time at 11 a.m. today at the Hyattsville Library. The library hosts daytime stories for 2-3-year-olds with caregivers again on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. Pick up a free ticket at the children's desk as the capacity is limited to 25.

4. Don’t forget that this week for renovations to the swampy area in the large dog pen.

5. Educator Ariel Trahan announced that the Anacostia Watershed Society is now officially a Maryland Green Center. With this certification the organization can help schools become Maryland Green Schools.
