Five Things You Need To Know Today (The Hy-Five)

Can you believe it’s only Tuesday? Chin up, Hyattsville! It’s bound to be Friday again soon! Here are five things you need to know today:

1. Well, boo. So much for that optimism! We’re The high today should be about 90, so that adds up to a mighty humid day.

2. On that note, it’s officially summer! So what if you can’t use the pool today or it’s not the weekend and you can’t go to happy hour yet? for when the weather turns brighter.

3. Did you try out Tennessee Tuxedo at when it was brewed last week? The 7 percent stout is aged in Jack Daniels barrels. It was only out for a limited time and we didn’t get to taste it! Patch editor Sarah Nemeth’s family lived in Johnson City, Tenn. and she’s feeling a bit left out. Did you get a swig of the brew? Let us know what you thought!

5. The had a “trick” meeting last night. No, there weren’t any wizards or magicians on hand, but the meeting was called last minute and once convened the council decided to make it a closed session only. Of course, they still have to open and close those meetings in public and made sure to make time for the public to speak up. No one was there though, besides the city staff and attorney.
