1. OPEN HOUSE AND FUN FAIR

Where/When: 4512 College Ave., College Park, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: You can meet the teachers, take a tour of the classrooms and join the school community as they celebrate with games and activities for the kids, food sales, a bake sale and a raffle and silent auction.

2. SPRING GARDENING PROGRAM

Where/When: 11 Crescent Road, Greenbelt (Greenbelt Library), Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: The Master Gardeners of Prince George's County is sponsoring a series of how-to presentations on starting and maintaining a garden. The spring gardening program will be offered at several local libraries through the month of March in Glenarden, Hyattsville, Laurel, New Carrollton, Oxon Hill, Suratts-Clinton and Greenbelt.

3. YIDDISH CLUB

Where/When: , 10 Ridge Road, Greenbelt, Sunday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: The Yiddish Club's goal is to experience Ashkenazic Jewish history and culture through the Yiddish language and other materials such as movies, poems, books, CDs, and magazines. You don't have to know how to speak or read Yiddish, and you don't have to come to every meeting. All you need is a love of Jewish culture and a desire to learn and have fun.

4. MODEL ROCKET LAUNCHES

Where/When: 8808 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt (NASA Goddard Visitor Center), Sunday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Like to build model rockets, but don't have a launch pad? Now you do! Anyone can fly at the Goddard model rocket launches, and there are no costs or fees to participate. Rockets, motors and supplies are available at the nearby Goddard Gift Shop, and you can even get rocket construction and launch tips from on-site experts on launch day. The launches are held at the Goddard Visitor Center the first Sunday of the month. Enter the visitor center on ICES at Road.

Pricing: Free; rocket supplies sold on site.

 

5. TRIVIA GAME NIGHT

Where/When: 113 Centerway, Greenbelt, Sunday, 6 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Trivia game night takes place on the first Monday of the month and is open to the entire family. The featured game is Wits & Wagers. The New Deal Cafe will sell food and drinks as usual.
