2. Vegetables You Can Grow in a Container

Where/When: 6530 Adelphi Rd., (Hyattsville Library), Saturday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: For healthy eating, learn how to grow vegetables in your yard and in containers of various sizes. Open to all ages.

3. The Sunday Experiment Kids Activities at NASA

Where/When: 8808 Greenbelt Rd., Greenbelt (NASA Goddard), Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Children can experience what it's like to be a NASA engineer by speaking with scientists and participating in an afternoon of hands-on activities designed for elementary school students and their families. Build mini rockets and hover-crafts, design your own planets and stars, or discover what it's like to be part of the manned spaced program. Known as the Sunday Experiment, the program is held the third Sunday of every month, September to May. Enter the visitor's center on ICES at Road.

4. The School for Super-Heroes – The Musical

Where/When: , 15 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt, Saturday, 7 p.m., Sunday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Local teen actors will perform a new original musical, The School For Super-Heroes Presents Orlando Furioso, The Musical. The show relates the adventures of a group of students with offbeat, not-so-superpowers, who don’t fit in at a high school for super-powered teenagers.

Pricing: $5

 

5. Greenbelt Museum Historic House Tours

Where/When: 10 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt, Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: The house is filled with furniture and art from the period of 1936-52, representing the meager lifestyles of Depression-era residencies of Greenbelt.

Pricing: General admission is $3, $2 for senior citizens and $1 for children under the age of 12.
