Why Go: The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I Station and the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (HNLEA) are sponsoring a forum to educate the community on what to expect when encountered by law enforcement. The forum is designed to help familiarize people with law enforcement concerns as well as practices to help avert misunderstandings.

2. Mocha on Ice: Skating Fundraiser At Wells Ice Rink

Where/When: 5211 Paint Branch Pkwy., College Park (Herbert Wells Ice Rink), Saturday 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Proceeds from the "Mochas on Ice" skating fundraiser will support the initiatives of Mocha Moms Inc. of Northern Prince George's County, a support group for at-home mothers of color.

Pricing: Tickets for adults and children cost $6 per person, plus a 50-cent processing fee for each ticket.  The ticket cost includes admission and skate rental. Tickets may be bought via PayPal at http://www.mochamomsnpgc.org/. No ticket purchases will be made at the rink, but tickets can be picked up at the door. Bring your receipt.

 

3. Great Mass in C Minor by Mozart

Where/When: 5901 36th Ave., (St. Matthew's Episcopal Church), Saturday 7 p.m.

Why Go: St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and the Prince George's Choral Society celebrate their anniversaries performing Mozart's Great Mass.

4. Prince George’s Saturday Running Club

Where/When: 6565 Greenbelt Rd., Greenbelt (Greenbelt Park), Saturday 8 a.m.

Why Go: The meeting point is Sweetgum picnic area. Take a right at the stop sign at the top of the rise after you enter.

5. Archie Edwards Barbershop Blues Jam

Where/When: 4701 Queensbury Rd., Riverdale, Saturday 1 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Acoustic Blues Jam!! Beginners to pro's welcome or just come to listen.  Bring any instrument - guitar, harmonica, banjo, dobro, washtub bass, percussion, etc.  If it makes noise and you don't plug it in, bring it!  ALL BLUES!  Located at the old Riverdale Bookstore.
