Yiddish Club at Mishkan Torah Synagogue

Where/When: Mishkan Torah Reconstructionist Conservative, 10 Ridge Rd, Greenbelt, Sunday, 10-11:30 a.m.

Why Go: The Yiddish Club's goal is to experience Ashkenazic Jewish history and culture through theYiddish language and other materials such as movies, poems, books, CDs and magazines.You don't have to know how to speak or read Yiddish, and you don't have to come to every meeting. All you need is a love of Jewish culture and a desire to learn and have fun.

"Mortgage Late, Don't Wait!" Foreclosure Prevention Workshop

Where/When: 8001 Sheriff Rd, Landover, (Sports and Learning Complex) Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Loan servicers, non-profit pro bono attorneys and housing counseling agencies will be on hand to assist consumers and meet with homeowners to work on possible solutions to help them stay in their home. Also, a workshop sponsored by the Public Justice Center is also scheduled for tenants whose residential property is facing foreclosure. The presentation will provide valuable information on renters’ rights.

Price: The event is free, however attendees are encouraged to RSVP.
