A variety of fun events are planned for this weekend around our area.

Little Chocolatiers Kids Workshop
Where/When: 6200 Pontiac St, Berwyn Heights, (Berwyn Heights Community Center), Friday, 5 p.m.
Why Go: Need original ideas for an Easter basket or Mother's Day gift? Learn how to create a wide range of personalized chocolate treats. Try adding nuts or pretzels to make a salty-sweet treat. No one chocolate will be the same, but they all will be delicious. Call to reserve a spot in the class. Open to ages 4-12
Price: $3 resident; $4 non-resident

The Lonesome Valley Ramblers Concert
Where/When: 113 Centerway, Greenbelt, (New Deal Cafe), Friday, 8 to 11 p.m.
Why Go: The Lonesome Valley Ramblers perform roots rock and country folk music including original songs by Hyattsville resident Curt Lucas. All tips received by the band will support the University Park Elementary School PTA. Come out for some great food, drinks, and music and support the school.

Super Sweet 16 Safari Party
Where/When: 4701 31st Pl, Mount Rainier, (Mount Rainier Nature and Recreation Center), Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.
Why Go: Live animals and a virtual jungle set the tone for this safari-themed party. Rock your safari gear as you dance the night away under LED lights. Enjoy free refreshments and smoothies as well as souvenirs. Open to ages 13-17. MNCPPC Youth ID required.

It's Your Birthday Tie-Dye Night at Wells Ice Rink

Where/When: 5211 Paint Branch Pkwy, College Park, (Herbert Wells Ic Rink), Saturday, 8 to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Anyone with a birthday in March gets in free with a center ID. Get in the spirit of the theme--wear your favorite tie-dye shirt.
Price: $4 includes skate rental

Blossom Kite Festival
Where/When: Constitution Avenue and 17th Street N.W., (Washington Monument), Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: See kites from around the world through competitions and demonstrations including the Hot Tricks Showdown and the Rokkaku Battle. You can bring your own hand-made kites, or children can build a kite at an activity station (while supplies last). You can also buy the official kite of the Blossom Kite Festival to fly on the public field.
