Where/When: St. Jerome Academy / 4 to 10 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Games and prizes, family-friendly festival food for sale plus refreshments for the grown-ups. Moon bounce and obstacle course. Win big with a money wheel and raffles. Live music.

Price: No charge to get in, pay as you play and eat. 

 

2. Washington, D.C. Jazz Legend Buck Hill Performance

Where/When: J. Marie’s Restaurant / 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: This Saturday, D.C. jazz legend Buck Hill, performs with young musicians from local schools at this 140-seat restaurant specializing in Louisiana cuisine and offering live jazz and blues in Hyattsville.

Price: No cover charge.

 

3. Adopt-A-Lab Day

Where/When: 5401 Urbana Pike, Frederick / 10:30 a.m. to noon Sunday

Why Go: To talk to foster Labs, of course! Once you do, you’ll fall in love and probably bring one home with you.

Price: Free to visit the Labs.

 

4. Festival of Nations

Where/When: 1771 Tucker Road, Fort Washington / noon to 5 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: The 2011 Festival of Nations where we will celebrate all cultures from around the world. International food, crafts, customs and traditions that form the mosaic of our United States culture will be celebrated at this grand event.

Price: Free admission, parking.

 

Where/When: / 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Come to the museum and design a device that will protect a large Grade-A egg from breaking when dropped. Open to grades K-12 and prizes will be awarded! Pre-registration is required. Free with museum admission.

Price: Adults $4, seniors $3, children $2.
