Why Go: The American Legion Post #136 will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Roosevelt Center. All residents are invited to come and bring friends to the solemn remembrance and traditional service honoring American military men and women who sacrificed their blood and lives for their country. Following the service all are invited back to the American Legion for an open house gathering.

Why Go: Go on a one-mile hike and test your memory. The hike will include activities that will test your ability to remember items along the way. Use Park Pass #132115 to register.

Price: You need to have a Park Pass from MoCo.

Where/When: McGinty’s, 911 Ellsworth Dr., Silver Spring / 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday

Why Go: Are you a whiskey fan? Want to gain more expertise? This tasting with a Jameson company representative of four different kinds of whiskey also includes tasting menu to go with it. Reservations required.
