What: Home school Naturalist Program – Learn Wilderness Skills
Where/When: 11 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt (Greenbelt Library), Friday
Why Go: Ancestral Knowledge offers a home school program that takes place in Greenbelt every Friday during the spring, with a camping trip in West Virginia May 3-5. Learn about stone tools, making a fire, animal tracking and camping skills.

What: National Library Week Bookmark Design Contest
Where/When: Hyattsville Library, Friday
Why Go: Pick up a bookmark design entry form at the information desk and return completed form by 5 p.m. April 16.

Where/When: 4601 Annapolis Rd., Bladensburg (Bladensburg Waterfront Park), noon to 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
Why Go: This event will take the participants on a 40-seater pontoon boat ride for an environmental/historical tour of the Anacostia River. This event is conducted from Tuesdays through Fridays. Call for more information.

What: Riverdale Park Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Where/When: , 4811 Riverdale Rd., 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: An annual event in Riverdale Park, come out on Saturday and search for Easter eggs on the Riversdale House Museum property. There will be prizes and Easter Bunny will visit. BYOB — Bring your own baskets.

What: College Park Egg Hunt
Where/When: 4912 Nantucket Rd., College Park (Youth and Family Services), 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: The College Park Arts Exchange will sponsor free arts activities at this child-friendly event.

What: Greenbelt Celebration of Spring
Where/When: , 6101 Cherrywood Ln., Greenbelt, 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go: Kids will enjoy moon bounces, entertainment and more.

What: Anniversary Parade and Festival
Where/When: Magruder Park, Hyattsville, 11 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: The parade will step off from Hyattsville Middle School and follow 42nd Avenue south to Jefferson Street, turn right on Jefferson and follow to Hamilton Street, where it will turn left and continue to the reviewing stage at Magruder Park (3911 Hamilton Street). See the parade route map here. Festival includes: games and food, a free family fun tent, live music, community information booths, Mandy the Clown and parade awards.
Sunday

What: Pre Earth Day Invasive Plant Removal
Where/When: 3900 Sellman Rd, Beltsville, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Are you ready to change the world, literally? Invasive plants have been a large threat to native plants in the area and are detrimental to our ecosystem health. Maintenance begins with volunteers like you. Join Alpha Phi Omega and celebrate Earth Day a little early this year! All interested members of the University of Maryland community may participate. We have work for everyone.

What: The Sunday Experiment Kids Activities at NASA
Where/When: 8808 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt (NASA Goddard), 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Children can experience what it's like to be a NASA engineer by speaking with scientists and participating in an afternoon of hands-on activities designed for elementary school students and their families. Build mini rockets and hovercrafts, design your own planets and stars, or discover what it's like to be part of the manned spaced program. Known as the Sunday Experiment, the program is held the third Sunday of every month, September to May. Enter the visitor's center on ICESat Road.

What: Palm Sunday Gospel Brunch
Where/When: First United Methodist Church, Hyattsville, 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Award winning Gospel artist Rudy Faulkner will perform with Contemporary Culture Collective at this meal featuring international food and door prizes. Donation of $25. Call the church for more information and tickets.
