Washington, D.C.’s cherry blossom festival blooms this weekend with the sixth annual family festival for “kids” of all ages.

So yes, that means you can masquerade as a big kid with or without the little ones.

Indoor and outdoor performances celebrating spring and Japanese arts and design are on tap along with other wonders.

Local architecture students will use food cans to build a 3-D creation presented by Safeway so pause, gawk and stand in awe.

You can also try your hand at decorating a miniature kite for the Blossom Kite Festival, sponsored by Eastern National’s “The Passport to Your National Parks” program.

To round out the trip, enjoy the delicious Cherry Picks, the 70 restaurants participating in the festivities, or food vendors, as well as the many free daily performances at the Tidal Basin. The 16-day festival is always crowded so , and try attending during off times.
