Several Local Fireworks Displays Will Celebrate Nation's Independence

Here's a list of fireworks displays a short drive away.

What's the Fourth of July without fireworks?

So here's a list of places a short drive from Hyattsville where you and your family can enjoy those sparklers in the sky.

University of Maryland

Where: Parking Lot 1, off Campus Drive near the University Boulevard/Adelphi Road entrance.

What: Food and music start at 7 p.m., with fireworks around 9 p.m. The Fabulous Hubcaps will perform and concessions will be available.

Buddy Attick Park

Where: 555 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt.

What: Entertainment begins at 5 p.m.—with a Hula Hoop Jam, Community Drum Circle Juggling School and a performance by the Greenbelt Concert Band.  Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Takoma Park Middle School

Where: 7611 Piney Branch Road, Takoma Park.

What: Parade at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Carroll and Ethan Allen avenues. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Bowie Baysox at Prince George's County Stadium

Where: 4101 N.E. Crain Hwy, Bowie.

What: Fireworks display after the game against the Reading Phillies. Enjoy a two-hour all-you-can-eat buffet featuring hamburgers, all-beef hotdogs, corn on the cob, barbecue baked beans, chips, watermelon and soft drinks. Six Flags America

Where: 13710 Central Avenue Mitchellville.

What: Spend the day at the amusement park and then check out the spectacular fireworks display.

Gaylord National Resort

What: Fireworks and Summer festival on July 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets are required.

Annapolis City Dock 

What: Parade and fireworks: Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Parade Route: West Street, around Church Circle, down Main Street to the City Dock. Naval Academy's Concert Band will perform at the end of City Dock just prior to the fireworks.
