2. HOME DEPOT KIDS WORKSHOP

Where/When: 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Why Go: This how-to workshops is designed for children ages 5-12. All kids get to decorate and keep their crafts along with a kid-sized Home Depot apron and achievement pin.

3. CHINATOWN LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL 2011:

Where/When: Chinatown Community Cultural Center, 616 H St. NW, Washington, D.C. Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Why Go: Experience the traditions and culture of the Lunar New Year in the heart of Washington’s historic Chinatown. Programs and activities include live music and dance performances, traditional Chinese calligraphy, children’s crafts, face painting, tai chi and kung fu demonstrations, lion dancing and more.

4. TRIVIA GAME NIGHT: 

Where/When: New Deal Cafe, 113 Centerway, Greenbelt. Sunday from 6-9 p.m.

Why Go: Trivia game night takes place on the first Monday of the month and is open to the entire family. The featured game is Wits & Wagers. The New Deal Cafe will sell food and drinks as usual.

5. KIDS AFRICAN ART WORKSHOPS:

Where/When: Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, 950 Independence Ave. SW, Washington, D.C. From 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: The African art workshop is open to children ages 7 and up who are accompanied by an adult. Children will learn about Adinkra symbols that have been in use in Ghana for hundreds of years. Wearing old clothes is recommended.
Pricing: Free, but reservations are required.
